U.S. Invasion of Grenada - Reagan's Attempt at Democracy Promotion?

The concern of the thesis is the US Foreign Policy after Ronald Reagan took the office of the President of the USA. It deals with the question whether the US invasion of Grenada in October 1983 was in accordance with such policy. Apart from a general conception of Reagan's Foreign Policy which is important for understanding the development of events, the US policy towards Latin America is directly analysed. The thesis follows with the outlining of US-Grenada relations from 1979 which was the year during which a leftist coup d'état took place on Grenada until the invasion itself. Simultaneously there is also outlined the internal Grenadian agenda which played a crucial role in the whole context prior the US invasion. The invasion itself partly took place as a result of a turmoil, which was created by the power struggle within the leading party on Grenada. The thesis also analyses the consequences of the US invasion, especially debates over legitimacy of the whole action which took place on a domestic as well as international level. The goal of the thesis is to find and explain the causes that led the US and Ronald Reagan to invade the island of Grenada.

Bachelor thesis Invaze na Grenadu: Příspěvek k vývoji vztahů mezi Velkou Británií a USA is a historical analysis of the impacts of invasion of Grenada (1983) on development of relationship between Great Britain and the United States of America. The relationship between these two countries is extremely specific that it has earned a particular term special relationship during the World War II. The Thatcher-Reagan era in 1980s is considered as an apex of this relationship. Grenada is a small island country in the Carribean that has gained independence from Great Britain in 1974. However Grenada was still a part of British Commonwealth of Nations with the British Queen still a formal head of state. Experts consider American invasion of Grenada the most critical moment in anglo-american relations of Thatcher-Reagan era. This thesis focuses on the formation a development of the special relationship concept including its historiographic approaches. Also it covers the revolutionary situation of Grenada that led to American invasion and it analyzes the influence of this clash of British and American interests on further functioning of special relationship. Foundation of the Company in Tax Haven

Thesis focuses on the possibility of setting up business entities in tax havens and their utilization in tax optimization. Reader is introduced to the most interesting Offshore and Onshore localities, their advantages, risks and possibilities of use. I will clarify the nature of the tax advantages of various types of companies including explanations of terms come from angloamerican jurisdictions. I will describe the specific steps which are required to set up the company in Grenada, including Sample documents and a model example demonstrating the tax optimization of the hypothetical bussines company. The resulting structure of the company will be subject to lower tax burden and consequently increase competitiveness of its products in global markets.
